About this experience
The safari then continues to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will descend into the crater and explore its incredible wildlife and scenery. Before returning to Arusha, we visit Lake Manyara National Park for one final game drive.
Throughout the journey, you will travel in a private safari vehicle with a professional English-speaking guide who will be with you along the way, helping you understand the wildlife, landscapes and local way of life. At the end of the safari, we return to Planet Lodge in Arusha.

Important information
- Info: This is a private safari, so the itinerary can be adjusted where possible according to your interests and the conditions on the ground. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed because animals move freely in their natural environment. Your guide will choose the best areas to explore based on recent wildlife activity and road conditions. Accommodation is provided according to the itinerary, and the exact room or tent arrangement depends on availability at the time of booking.
- Requirements: No special fitness level is required for the safari. Guests should be comfortable spending several hours in a safari vehicle and travelling on some rough and dusty roads. A reasonable level of mobility is recommended for getting in and out of the vehicle and for the walking activity at Lake Natron. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
- Accessibility: The safari is not specifically designed for wheelchair users or guests with severe mobility difficulties. Guests should be able to get in and out of a safari vehicle and manage uneven ground during activities such as the Lake Natron walk. Please contact Kiwia Africa Tours before booking if you have specific accessibility needs so we can discuss what arrangements are possible.

Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania
📍 Arusha – Planet Lodge
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be met by our Kiwia Africa Tours representative and transferred to Planet Lodge. After checking in, you can take some time to relax after your journey and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge. If you arrive early enough, your guide will meet you for a short safari briefing and explain the plan for the coming days. Enjoy a relaxed evening and a good night's rest before the safari begins.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9.00h)
📍 Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Mereera Valley Lodge
After breakfast at Planet Lodge, we meet our safari guide and begin our journey towards Tarangire National Park. The drive takes us through local villages and the beautiful countryside of northern Tanzania. Once we enter the park, we begin our game drive and start looking for wildlife. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and huge baobab trees, but we can also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and different types of antelope. With some luck, we may also find lions. After enjoying the afternoon in the park, we drive to Mereera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tarangire to Lake Natron

📍 Tarangire – Lake Natron – Africa Safari Lake Natron
After breakfast, we leave the Tarangire area and continue towards Lake Natron. Today gives you the opportunity to experience a quieter and more remote side of northern Tanzania. We pass through Maasai villages and beautiful landscapes as we approach the Great Rift Valley. After reaching Lake Natron, we have lunch before exploring the area. Depending on the conditions, we can enjoy a guided walk around the lake and look for the flamingos that gather around its shallow alkaline waters. Later, we return to Africa Safari Lake Natron for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park
7:00 AM – 6:30 PM (11.50h)

After breakfast, we leave Lake Natron and make our way towards the famous Serengeti National Park. The journey takes us through remote areas and traditional Maasai country before the landscape gradually opens into the endless plains of the Serengeti. Once we enter the park, the game drive begins. Keep your eyes open for wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, buffalo and elephants. We will also keep looking for predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. In the evening, we arrive at Mbugani Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Full Day Serengeti Safari
6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (11.50h)
📍 Serengeti National Park – Embalakai Authentic Camp
Today we have a full day to enjoy the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, we head out while the morning is still cool and the animals are active. We take our time exploring different areas of the park and following the wildlife. Depending on the season and where the animals are moving, we may see large herds of wildebeest and zebra, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and many different antelopes. We will also keep looking for lions, cheetahs and leopards. A picnic lunch will be carried with us so we can spend most of the day out in the park. In the evening, we head to Embalakai Authentic Camp for dinner and overnight.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

We start the morning with an early game drive in the Serengeti while many animals are still active. After the morning safari, we leave the Serengeti and continue towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will see the landscape changing as we climb towards the cooler Ngorongoro highlands. We arrive at Rhino Lodge later in the afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Return to Arusha

📍 Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha Planet Lodge
After an early breakfast, we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for one of the biggest highlights of the safari. The crater floor is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, and we spend the morning exploring the grasslands and water areas looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and, with some luck, the endangered black rhino. After the crater game drive, we continue towards Lake Manyara National Park for a final wildlife experience. The park has a beautiful green landscape, forest areas and plenty of birdlife. After the game drive and lunch, we begin our journey back to Arusha. We arrive at Planet Lodge in the evening, marking the end of your safari with Kiwia Africa Tours.

After breakfast at Planet Lodge, enjoy your last morning in Arusha at your own pace. Depending on your flight schedule, you can relax at the lodge or take some time to do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Arusha. When it is time to leave, our Kiwia Africa Tours driver will pick you up and transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey. This marks the end of your safari with Kiwia Africa Tours.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure may be subject to charges for accommodation, park fees and other services that have already been paid for or cannot be refunded.
