- Requirements: Good physical fitness is recommended. Participants should be comfortable hiking for several hours at a time. Suitable hiking shoes and warm clothing are required. Continue uphill through forest and giant heather toward Saddle Hut. After settling in, take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m) before returning to Saddle Hut for an early dinner and rest. Wake around midnight and begin the summit climb. Ascend via Rhino Point and Cobra Point before reaching Socialist Peak around sunrise. After enjoying the summit views, descend to Saddle Hut, continue toward Miriakamba and finally reach Momella Gate, where your vehicle will transfer you back to Arusha.
