Along the trail, you will have the opportunity to encounter the endemic Gelada baboons and experience the unique highland environment of northern Ethiopia. The trek passes through some of the most scenic areas of the park, including Sankaber, Gich, and Chennek, before reaching Buhait, one of the highest and most impressive points of the route. Drive from Gondar to Sankabir
7:00 AM – 1:04 AM (5.00h)
Begin the adventure with a scenic drive from Gondar to Debark, the gateway to the Simien Mountains. After completing the necessary park registration and obtaining permits in Debark, continue driving into the spectacular Simien Mountains National Park. Along the way, keep an eye out for the endemic Gelada baboons and enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery. Upon arrival at Sankaber, settle into the campsite and enjoy a short introductory walk around the area, taking in the breathtaking escarpment views. After lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding trails, enjoying nature and wildlife observation, and capturing stunning photographs of the landscape. As the day comes to an end, relax at the campsite and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Simien highlands. Overnight: Sankaber Camping

After breakfast, begin trekking from Sankaber to Gich Campsite, following scenic trails along the Simien escarpment.
